What better way to relax the day before the Emmys
than with an afternoon tea. The BAFTA Los Angeles TV Tea party kicked
off with its usual sophisticated swagger Saturday at the Boxwood cafe
inside of the London Hotel in West Hollywood, Calif., with Brits and
non-Brits like Maisie Williams, Laura Carmichael, Emilia Clarke,
and more gathering for an event filled with traditional British tea,
cocktails, and plenty of conversation to celebrate this year's nominees.
Game of Thrones stars Clarke and Williams
both rocked pink looks to the elegant bash, with the 29-year-old actress
hurrying inside to enjoy the festivities in an off-the-shoulder, sheer,
lace dress that she paired with snakeskin-printed pumps.
Williams, meanwhile, stunned in a plunging Henry
Holland silk minidress emblazoned with stars, and matching Jimmy Choo
metallic pumps, and showed off the "07.08.09" tattoo she inked on her
arm with co-star Sophie Turner in honor of the day they both landed
their roles on the show. Williams, who is nominated for her first Emmy
for her role as Arya Stark on GOT, told InStyle she felt
"really excited" going into the official Emmy awards, explaining, "Emmy
weekend is just the funnest weekend. So, regardless, I'll go home and sleep on my memory foam pillow very
very happy." As for the tea party, the 19-year-old actress told us it
was her first time attending the event and was thrilled to be there. "I
feel like it's just a very civilized, lovely atmosphere with loads of
people in this industry," she added.
